Managing Stress and Anxiety During Uncertain Times

I’m imagining you might be feeling some uncertainty right now. These are challenging times. Are you still hanging in there? Are you nervous about the future? Are you worried about the uncertain times ahead? Are you scared about your future? Staying at home can be nerve-wracking. Over the past couple of weeks, we have experienced varying levels of anxiety or panic over the pandemic situation. In just weeks, the Coronavirus pandemic has shaved off nearly a third of the global market cap. As IHS Markit chief economist Nariman Behravesh put it, “The virus itself isn’t killing the economy, but the response to it is sending us into recession.” Whether it’s hinging on a supply-side recession or a consumer-side recession, we don’t know yet! But with global growth slowing sharply, financial tightening and on-hold travel plans, things are going to slow down.

It’s not so much about the virus killing us all as it about the thought of “What’s gonna happen if…?” All of this can be too stressful for people. Fear and anxiety levels can be overwhelming. During these uncertain times, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as tapping, is proven to be effective on anxiety and fears. It is based on the combined principles of modern-day psychology and ancient Chinese acupressure. EFT uses certain tapping points on our bodies while saying certain statements.

EFT is also used in many areas including physical pain relief, traumas, phobias, addictions and even in releasing limiting beliefs and improving personal performance. I have personally seen it work for motion sickness, personal guilt, stress at work, fear of animals, relationship challenges, shoulder pains, and even the fear of perfection. What’s more – the results are long-lasting! Today, I am going to walk you through a tap-along video so that you too can experience calm and restore your body’s balance of energy and health. This article and video are not to discount the pandemic we are facing, but to support you to stay calm and present.

This tap-along video was created as part of #ReadInstead Litfest organized by Juggernaut Books in association with Scroll.

Below is the visual of all the tapping points.

Reminder: Please wash your hands well before and after tapping! Stay safe. Keep tapping!
